Free Palestine! ¡Palestina Libre!
In 1948, nearly a million Palestinian people and generations of families were violently displaced or murdered by the colonial occupier known as Israel. Seventy-five years later, the Palestinian people continue to endure racism, terrorism, and violence by Zionist Israel. This brutal occupation is characterized by the presence of military checkpoints, severe water rationing, widespread land grabs, incessant bombings, and the enforcement of discriminatory laws. This toll of oppression has resulted in the systematic murder and imprisonment of millions of Palestinian individuals by the apartheid state.
Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and all over the world demonstrate unwavering resilience and resistance to these conditions. The fight to reclaim their homes, land, and freedom from illegal occupation will not stop. When a government makes non-violent resistance impossible, when it brutalizes and murders those engaged in peaceful protest, it makes armed resistance inevitable. Rebellion, resistance, and sometimes violence are tools of people who have been silenced, ignored, and brutalized. We recognize the root cause of this violence is Israel’s occupation and apartheid system, made possible to an extraordinary degree by the United States’ longstanding and overwhelming military support and diplomatic cover.
Palestinian’s right to resist oppression must be recognized and supported. Period. It is also imperative to recognize that Israel, like most colonizers, does not act alone. The United States government plays a key role in the fueling of violence of the empire through its support of Israel and Netanyahu’s determination to commit Palestinian genocide. It is not just the case that the US merely helps the settler state to perpetrate oppression and atrocities on the Palestinian people -- rather, this complicity is a central facet of the broader US imperial strategy. In 2016, US President Barack Obama signed an aid package to Israel for 38 billion dollars to cover the fiscal years 2019-2028. Joe Biden himself said in a 1986 speech that providing Israel with $3 billion “was the best investment the US could make. Were there not an Israel, the US would have to invent an Israel to protect our interests.”
We condemn every one of the other horrific crimes committed by the Zionist government. More than 10,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza by Israel since October 7. We cannot divorce the facts of what is happening, and has happened, in Gaza, nor can we ignore the propaganda and lies that are being circulated by corporate media, Joe Biden’s administration, and anyone else who is characterizing the armed struggles of Palestinians as anything but liberatory. The oppressors will always try to obfuscate the truth of their brutality and violence. Make no mistake. What Israel and the West are doing, and have done, to the Palestinian people are war crimes and atrocities. It is apartheid. Not a conflict, not a war, but a genocide and ethnic cleansing. There are no other names for this.
We must recognize that the liberation of Palestine is intertwined with our liberation. Our communities are also divided by borders and walls that violently divide and disrupt our land and families, and we have lost thousands of our loved ones to imperialism, militarization, policing, dispossession, and incarceration. We recognize Palestine's connected struggles to Mexico and the United States, where police violence and borders surveil bodies, manage exclusion, and orchestrate punishment. The Biden administration contributes nearly $25 billion to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which, combined with Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star, an almost $10 billion program that further polices and militarizes the Texas Mexico border. These sources of violence come from the theft of land and the brutality of colonizers. We must create a world where resources are used to care for one another and not to fund more violence and genocide.
Times like these remind us even more that we cannot rely on our government to be anything but an empire. Instead, we must look to our movement elders and ancestors, the youth and everyone who offers abundant revolutionary practices of radical care and collective liberation. We must continuously work to learn from and uphold the struggles of Black radical feminists, the Zapatistas, Indigenous activists and land protectors, prison and border abolitionists, environmental justice activists, queer and trans organizers, and the Palestinian people who have been teaching us how to imagine and actualize a future free of settler colonialism, occupation, and genocide for over seven decades. These moments will birth radical opportunities.
We, the undersigned, stand with Palestine unequivocally and unwavering, in solidarity with their legendary resistance and courage in the struggle to resist an occupying regime, to take back their land and liberty. As workers, and organizers, we look to the words of Lilla Watson to show our love and support for a free Palestine: If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together. We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people’s right to protest, to resist, and to end 75 years of occupation and apartheid. We commit to platforming and amplifying their voices, stories, lives, and struggles while challenging any false narratives put forth about what we are witnessing in occupied Palestine. We support the Palestinian people’s right to their land and their lives, to their self-determination and autonomy, and their liberation, by any means necessary. And we will not leave, look away, or be silent until Palestine is free.

¡Palestina Libre! Free Palestine!
En 1948, casi un millón de palestinos y generaciones de familias fueron violentamente desplazados o asesinados por el ocupante colonial conocido como Israel.Setenta y cinco años después, el pueblo palestino sigue soportando el racismo, el terrorismo y la violencia del Israel sionista. Esta brutal ocupación se caracteriza por la presencia de puestos de control militares, un severo racionamiento del agua, apropiaciones generalizadas de tierras, bombardeos incesantes y la aplicación de leyes discriminatorias. Este tipo de opresión ha resultado en el asesinato sistemático y el encarcelamiento de millones de palestinos por parte del Estado de apartheid.
Los palestinos en Gaza, Cisjordania y en todo el mundo muestran una resiliencia y resistencia inquebrantables ante estas condiciones. La lucha por recuperar sus hogares, sus tierras, y ser libre de la ocupación ilegal no parará.Cuando un gobierno hace imposible la resistencia no violenta, cuando brutaliza y asesina a quienes participan en protestas pacíficas, hace inevitable la resistencia armada. La rebelión, la resistencia y, a veces, la violencia son herramientas de personas que han sido silenciadas, ignoradas y brutalizadas. Reconocemos que la causa fundamental de esta violencia es la ocupación y el sistema de apartheid de Israel, posibles en un grado extraordinario gracias al apoyo militar y la cobertura diplomática abrumadora y duradera de los Estados Unidos.
El derecho de los palestinos a resistir la opresión debe ser reconocido y apoyado. También es imperativo reconocer que Israel, como la mayoría de los colonizadores, no actúa solo. Condenamos todos los demás crímenes horrendos cometidos por el gobierno sionista.. Más de 8.000 palestinos han sido asesinados en Gaza por Israel desde el 7 de octubre. No podemos divorciarnos de los hechos de lo que está sucediendo y ha sucedido en Gaza, ni podemos ignorar la propaganda y las mentiras que están circulando por los medios corporativos, la administración de Joe Biden y cualquiera que esté caracterizando las luchas armadas de los palestinos como cualquier cosa, menos liberador. Los opresores siempre intentarán ocultar la verdad de su brutalidad y violencia. No cometer errores. Lo que Israel y Occidente están haciendo y han hecho al pueblo palestino son crímenes de guerra y otras atrocidades como el apartheid. No es un conflicto, no es una guerra, sino un genocidio y una limpieza étnica. No hay otros nombres para esto.
Debemos reconocer que la liberación de Palestina está entrelazada con nuestra liberación. Nuestras comunidades también están divididas por fronteras y muros que dividen y perturban violentamente nuestra tierra y nuestras familias, y hemos perdido a miles de nuestros seres queridos a causa del imperialismo, la militarización, la vigilancia policial, el despojo y el encarcelamiento. La administración Biden aporta casi $25 mil millones a la Oficina de Aduanas y Protección Fronteriza (CBP) de EEUU y al Servicio de Inmigración y Control de Aduanas (ICE), que, combinado con la Operación Estrella Solitaria del gobernador de Texas, Greg Abbott, un programa de casi $10 mil millones que vigila y militariza aún más la frontera entre Texas y México. Reconocemos las luchas de Palestina conectadas con las de México y Estados Unidos, donde la violencia policial y fronteriza vigila cuerpos, gestiona exclusión e impone el castigo. Estas fuentes de violencia provienen del robo de tierras y de la brutalidad de los colonizadores. Debemos crear un mundo donde los recursos se utilicen para cuidar unos de otros y no para financiar más violencia y genocidio.
Momentos como estos nos recuerdan aún más que no podemos confiar en nuestro gobierno no es más que un imperio. En cambio, debemos mirar a los mayores y ancestros de nuestro movimiento, a los jóvenes y a todos los que ofrecen abundantes prácticas revolucionarias de cuidado radical y liberación colectiva. Debemos trabajar continuamente para aprender y defender las luchas de las feministas radicales negras, de los zapatistas, de activistas indígenas y protectores de la tierra, de abolicionistas de prisiones y fronteras, de activistas por la justicia ambiental, de organizadores queer y trans, y del pueblo palestino que nos han estado enseñando cómo imaginar y hacer realidad un futuro libre de colonialismo, ocupación y genocidio durante más de siete décadas. Estos momentos generarán oportunidades radicales.
Nosotros, los abajo firmantes, apoyamos a Palestina de manera inequívoca e inquebrantable, en solidaridad con su legendaria resistencia y coraje en la lucha para resistir a un régimen ocupante, para recuperar su tierra y su libertad. Como trabajadores y organizadores, recurrimos a las palabras de Lilla Watson para mostrar nuestro amor y apoyo a una Palestina libre: Si has venido aquí para ayudarme, estás perdiendo el tiempo. Pero si has venido porque tu liberación está ligada a la mía, entonces trabajemos juntos. Nos solidarizamos con el derecho del pueblo palestino a protestar, resistir y poner fin a 75 años de ocupación y apartheid. Nos comprometemos a posicionar y amplificar sus voces, historias, vidas y luchas, al mismo tiempo que desafiamos cualquier narrativa falsa presentada sobre lo que estamos presenciando en la Palestina ocupada. Apoyamos el derecho del pueblo palestino a su tierra y a sus vidas, a su autodeterminación y autonomía, y a su liberación. por cualquier medio necesario. Y no nos iremos, ni miraremos hacia otro lado, no guardaremos silencio hasta que Palestina sea libre.
